Herbert Wolfsen MD

Dr. Herbert Wolfsen is a professor of medicine at the Mayo Medical School and Chief of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Mayo Clinic in Florida. Wolfsen’s research has focused on the development and optimized utilization of endoscopic techniques such as confocal laser endomicroscopy and spectroscopy (fluorescent, light scattering and diffuse reflectance)for the detection and treatment of Barrett’s dysplasia, esophageal adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Wolfsen attended Medical school in California at Loma Linda University, internal medicine training in Seattle at the Virginia Mason Medical Center, and gastroenterology fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
